On July 2025, I was one of the artist at YASME residency program. Located in Elmalık Village, Bolu, Turkey. The family who started this program for their beloved daughter Yeşim, made it possible to get to know the house and the village that full of memories. It was a deeply moving and creative experince for me.
During the residency, considering the memories, I focused on transience of life and how nature always in a transformative act. I started with paint landscapes and a sketchbook dedicated to there. I wrote short poetic pieces, did monotypes and 3 main oil paintings.
With Elif Öztaşçı who was the other resident artist, we built a spiral shaped land art. It is made from found marbles and available to visit any time.
And for the YASME collection, I made an installation work. The idea is similar to an observatory- inside the prismatic glass there is a found natural form. The wood has been there for years to be burnt, but in time it became an interesting piece. By confining it, a timeless observation is possible.
